["I enjoy being me." -Adele]

Oh no he DIDN’T.  Karl, Karl, Karl…it hurts me to hear you called Adele “a little too fat.”  It made me incredibly sad when I saw entertainment sources (confession, I frequent US Magazine and People daily) blowing up with the news that Karl Lagerfeld, of Chanel, said, “She is a little too fat, but she has a beautiful face and a divine voice.”  Mr. Lagerfeld has been under fire before in 2009 when he made a statement to Focus magazine stating, ”No one wants to see curvy women.”

Adele proved him wrong in her current spread in Vogue magazine; I believe women DO want to see girls that look real.  I was flipping through the issue and my jaw dropped at her incredible curves and amazing beauty.  Thank you Vogue for putting the gorgeous and real Adele on your cover…she KILLED it!

The icing on the cake?!  Her response to the comment was perfection, “I’ve never wanted to look like models on the cover of magazines. I represent the majority of women and I’m very proud of that…I enjoy being me; I always have done. I’ve seen people where it rules their lives, you know, who want to be thinner or have bigger boobs, and how it wears them down. And I just don’t want that in my life.”  You can read more of it at the DailyMail.

Check out all of her incredible Vogue images here; photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott did an incredible job.  I’m hoping the Vogue sales for this month are off the charts to send Karl a message!  Will you join me in buying a copy this month?!

xoxox,

Sarah - you don’t think the cover image was photoshopped to pieces? she didnt look like this on tv!

Michelle Ocampo - Sarah, I’m sure you are right and there has been some PS. However, I’m wanting to look at the positive side that a woman with real curves is gracing the cover and embracing herself. “I enjoy being me” says it all…and to embrace your curves and your real self under criticism from a powerhouse like that shows her fearlessness!

rachel clare - where’s the “like” button!

rachel clare - ps. i know, the “like” button is above the comment section. I pushed it. :)

SARA - I am buying one tonight! Love her and her fearlessness!!!!
